The Opening Ceremonies for the Olympics are Friday from 2-6:30PM. There will only be an optional 4-5 practice on Friday for the newer/younger swimmers. Swimmers who practice from 5-6 are expected to watch the Opening Ceremonies. It will have a greater impact on their performance the following day than a tune-up practice.

I recommend hosting/finding a nearby group of swimmer families and watching together. This only happens every four years. That's a long time in "kid years." Make the most of it!
